International Conference
March 26-29, 2009 -- Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The goal of the Sustainability Committee for the 2009 National Conference is simply to limit the impact this conference has on the environment. We are looking to do this in the following ways:
  • Give people a chance to calculate their carbon foot print while traveling to and from the conference and provide a means of off-setting it.  Go to http://www.terrapass.com/buy-carbon-offsets/
  • Provide public transportation for getting from the conference center to Downtown Milwaukee.
  • Use, as much as possible, local food vendors.
  • Use recycled and/or degradable materials whenever possible.
  • Limit the amount of waste that the conference produces.
  • Promote ways to be sustainable beyond the timeframe of the conference.

Take a look at this ride-share site that you can use if you want to find others going to the conference that are either near by or on their way.
