Volunteering with EWB-USA
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Engineers Without Borders - USA. Our work would not be possible without your support.

EWB-USA offers you several great opportunities to become involved in building a better world one community at a time, whether you are:

- An engineering student (undergraduate or graduate)
- A student in some other field of study
- A professional engineer or university faculty member
- Not an engineer at all!

EWB-USA has thousands of volunteers involved hands-on and behind the scenes with projects across the globe as well as providing support services to EWB-USA.  Just let us know what you would like to do.

Only EWB-USA members are eligible to participate on project teams.

How to Volunteer?
1. Join or Start a Chapter: Look for a student or professional chapter in your area and ask the chapter contact how to get involved. If you do not have a local chapter, then contact us for information about starting one. Anyone who starts or joins an EWB-USA chapter should be familiar with the EWB-USA Sourcebook.  View the Chapters Search page.

2. Be a Professional Reviewer or TAC member: For those with years of experience, but who don't want to travel overseas, this might be the right option for you. You can help review projects before they are implemented in-country by volunteering with the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).  Please see our TAC page or contact us for more information on this opportunity.

3. Coordinate Between Projects:  Liaisons provide communication between chapters, EWB-USA staff, and in-country resources. Please see our TAC page or contact us for more information on this opportunity.

4. Provide Technical Expertise: People with technical expertise that would be useful for a project can volunteer on a project to educate, train and mentor project teams so that they will be more successful in the design and build of their project. Please visit our Projects Search page.

5. Help as a Non-Engineer: In addition to engineering expertise, projects need help with health assessments, cultural education, trip planning, fund raising, and grant writing. If you have interest and expertise in these areas, contact your local chapter and let them know your interests and expertise.  View the Chapters Search page.

6. Support Our Administrative Needs:  EWB-USA does more than projects. Our projects depend on the tremendous efforts of individuals who manage and run the day-to-day administrative activities of the organization. We are looking for volunteers to complement our team in the following areas: administrative, planning, marketing, grant writing, management, fund raising, public relations, financial management, recruiting, database and web development. Contact Ann Geesaman, if you would like to join our team.
